Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Pineapple bun without pineapple but a thick slice of butter. It is very tasty. Must try They have two version of egg tart. I ordered the flaky one. It was not that flaky. You can skip. I think they should go back to the original style. The shell should be thick and flaky Overall it’s very crowded restaurant. Price is good. Food is ok. They hardly could accommodate Table for 4. Party of 2 would be much easier to be seated. Expect dining with strangers next to you Floor and utensils are not that spotless. But it makes the place more authentic like the old days. Price good to reasonable Food. Good Service. Close to none Food menu English only. Only a few pictures They speak Cantonese and Mandarin only."
"To put it simply, this cha chaan teng is the best I’ve ever been too. Their dishes are spectacular with some highlights being the satay instant noodles, wonton noodles, fried noodles and more. Their drinks also blew me away with the wide selection of drinks and varying temperatures. Secondly, their service is impeccable, even comparing to Michelin star restaurants. The waiters are more than happy to take your order and will split the bill happily. They also cater to regulars by reserving tables for them and giving them special treatment like a real restaurant would. They also offer a 10% discount at tea time, making it the perfect time to go. This place has not only blown me away, it has changed my life. I cannot use words to describe my experience. When I first went here, I was doubtful about the cha chaan teng, but through their food and service, they convinced me to come back again and again. I slowly realised this was not an ordinary cha chaan teng, but an amazing one. This place has turned from just another cha chaan teng into a constant of my life, through many ups and downs this restaurant has been a constant highlight of my life. I would not just recommend this restaurant but bestow upon you the magnificent gift that sha tin buddies has given me."
"Typical HK Style cafe. It sells freshly baked egg tarts and pineapple buns. Milk tea is up to standard. Their pandan egg tart is innovative. That green color is stunning."
"Try their Po Lo Bao! It’s so fluffy and not so sweet. The size is huge too. Definitely the star attraction. Expect a long queue if this is in the city centre."
"Changed my life. No words to describe. Service is fit for even the king. Magnificent. Must come again."
"Tasty food and a fun environment. Sha Tin Buddies offers quick service and flavorful food. There are dishes that can be made vegetarian, such as the fried noodles I had. Location is convenient - very close to the Shek Mun MTR. I enjoy stopping over here when I'm hungry and need some comfort food."
"I’ve come here several times, before and after the new owners. I absolute rate this place and it’s a great and consistent restaurant. Would recommend the sauce chicken, sweet and sour pork and pineapple buns."
"BEST RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. The cuisine here is out of this world. It changed my life, my favourite order is the P6 satay beef noodle it is just extraordinary absolute bliss"
